Signals: what your audience keeps asking for
Requests, repeated questions and praise, counted from what people actually wrote.
How it works
Every other analytics page in this suite is built from numbers such as reach and follows. Signals is built from what people literally wrote. It reads the DMs and comments knit.bio has captured, groups the ones that say the same thing, and shows the patterns on three tabs: They want this (requests for something you do not offer or have not made yet), They keep asking (questions you keep answering by hand) and Praise (messages worth quoting).
Patterns build up over time. Until there are enough messages to tell you something true, the page says it is still listening and shows how close it is. The summary is refreshed once a day, so a new pattern appears the next day rather than instantly.
Every card shows its evidence: how many people asked, quotes from the messages, and a way to say it is wrong (dismiss it, or “I do have one” if you already sell the thing). On They want this, Plan a post saves the topic to your Ideas board and opens the composer, and Notify who asked (Pro) sends a DM to the people behind the topic who are still inside Instagram’s 24-hour messaging window. Anyone outside that window is reported as skipped rather than dropped silently.
On They keep asking, write your answer once and it works twice: it becomes an entry for your page’s FAQ block, and on Pro and Max you can switch on “Also answer this in my DMs” so the same answer replies to matching DMs and comments automatically (Pro answers up to 500 a month, Max is unlimited). The answer always saves for your page; the automatic replies are a Pro and Max feature.
Praise (Pro) collects genuine messages worth quoting. You can copy a quote or dismiss it, and Add it on your page takes you to the Page Builder. That is deliberate: putting a private message on your public page is the one action here with a consent question attached, so the quote only goes live from the Testimonials block, where you confirm you have the sender’s OK.
A control at the top of the page chooses which sources the next daily update reads (direct messages, public comments) and whether AI may help group them. Capture never stops either way: switching a source off only changes what the next update reads, and the change starts with tomorrow’s run.
On the free plan you see real counts with the words hidden (for example how many people asked for something you do not sell), so the size of the opportunity is visible before you upgrade. Starter reads the topics, Pro adds Praise, Notify who asked and the automatic answers; Max lifts the answer limit and adds content prompts.

Go to Dashboard → IG Suite → Signals. If it says it is still listening, patterns will appear as more messages arrive.

Each card is a request with a count. Plan a post to turn it into an idea, or Notify who asked once you have made the thing.

Answer a repeated question
On They keep asking, write the answer once. It feeds your page’s FAQ, and on Pro and Max it can reply for you.

Correct what is wrong
Dismiss a topic that is not real, or mark “I do have one” so it stops badging a gap you have already filled.
Tips to get the most out of it
- Notify who asked only reaches people who messaged you in the last 24 hours, so use it soon after you make the thing, and post publicly for everyone else.
- Act on the biggest count first. A request from thirty people is a product decision; one from a single person is not news yet.
- Answer the most repeated question before anything else: it takes one answer to remove a whole class of DMs.
