Intent playbooks: the “what size?” DM

A comment that asks about size, shipping or price gets your own DM, and the person is tagged as a warm lead.

How it works

Intent Signals reads every comment on your posts and sorts the buying questions into five kinds: sizing, shipping, pricing, buying and availability. It needs no keyword and no AI key: a scoring pass reads the wording, and an optional AI step can refine only the unclear ones (off by default).

Every commenter it recognises is tagged warm-lead, intent- plus the kind (for example intent-sizing) and high-intent. Tagging happens on every plan, so you can find those people on the Instagram tab of Submissions even if you never switch sending on.

A playbook is what gets sent. For each kind you write the DM, add a link button (a size chart, a shipping policy or any page) and optionally a Shop now button for one of your store products. Sending is a Pro feature and it is off until you switch it on. A playbook with nothing to point at (a size chart that is not there yet) sends nothing. Instagram allows one private reply per comment, so the DM is a single message with a link button rather than an image upload.

Every comment gets at most one answer. When several things could answer, your own keyword automation goes first, then a live FAQ answer, then the intent playbook. A comment that loses still gets its tags, and the reason no DM went out is recorded.

It is built to fail toward silence. A missed reply costs what it always cost you, while a wrong reply can be posted publicly. So it is off by default, statements are ignored, replies inside a comment thread are left alone, and unclear comments send nothing.

Try it on a real comment shows what would happen for any comment you paste in, using your settings as they are on screen (unsaved edits included), without posting or messaging anyone. Comment text and identity on these records are scrubbed after 90 days, and the counts stay.

Tips to get the most out of it

  • Start with the one question you answer most, and link the real size chart or policy before you switch that playbook on.
  • Use the warm-lead tags on the Instagram tab of Submissions to follow up by email or Broadcast, even for people you never DMed.
  • Keep your own keyword automations for campaigns. They always win over a playbook on the same comment.
