Selling through DMs
A follower buys straight from the carousel, and the file lands back in the same conversation.
How it works
When a DM includes a Product or Product carousel, tapping a tile opens your real checkout page — the same one your bio-page store already uses, with whichever payment method you've connected (Stripe or Razorpay).
That purchase is automatically linked back to the conversation it came from. Nothing to turn on: as soon as the buyer pays, the order is stamped with which Instagram automation and which contact it came from.
If it's a digital product, the file is sent back into that same DM thread the moment payment is confirmed — on top of, not instead of, the usual download-page and email delivery, so a buyer who checked their email first still gets it either way.
Prices and product details are always read fresh at the moment the DM is sent, so editing a price or swapping the product image in your store updates every automation using it — you never have to touch the automation itself.
This only works for products with a real checkout (Stripe or Razorpay connected). A product whose only "buy" option is a plain link you pasted in yourself (UPI, PayPal.me, or a custom URL) still sends fine, but a sale made that way can't be linked back to the conversation, since there's no checkout page in the loop to do the linking.
How it flows
Set it up
- 1
Connect a payment method
Stripe or Razorpay, from Settings — the same connection your bio-page store uses.
Open Settings - 2
Build the automation
In the Auto-DM builder, set "Link to send" to Product or Product carousel and pick what to sell.
Open Auto-DMs - 3
That's it
Every sale from that automation is attributed and delivered automatically — there is no separate switch for this.
Tips to get the most out of it
- A Product carousel outsells a single Product link for the same reason a shop window outsells one item in a box — let a follower compare before they commit, especially once you're selling more than two or three things.
- For anything you'd rather deliver personally (a service, a custom order), keep Delivery method set to manual on that product — the buyer still gets a confirmation, and you follow up yourself instead of an automatic file drop.
