How to Use knit.bio: A Beginner's Guide
From sign-up to your first published page in under 10 minutes. No design or coding skills needed, just follow these seven steps.
Welcome to knit.bio! Whether you're a creator, a small business, or just want one tidy link to share everywhere, this guide walks you through building a polished page in minutes. No technical skills required, let's go step by step.
Step 1: Create your account
Head to knit.bio and click Get Started. You can sign up with your email or your Google account in a few seconds. Then pick your username. This becomes your public address, like knit.bio/yourname.
Tip: Match your username to your main social handle so your audience recognises it instantly. If you're @sarahcreates on Instagram, grab knit.bio/sarahcreates.
Step 2: Start from a template (or a blank page)
After sign-up you'll land in the template gallery. Each template is professionally designed and grouped by who it's for:
- Personal: link-in-bio, résumé, event, and lifestyle layouts
- Creator: content-first pages built for video, music, and growing an audience
- Business: clean, credible layouts for services and local businesses
- Shop: product-led pages designed to sell
Don't overthink it. You can switch templates anytime and your content carries over. Prefer a clean slate? Choose Start from scratch and build block by block.
Step 3: Set up your profile
Your profile header is the first thing visitors see. Add:
- A profile photo: a clear, well-lit headshot or your logo
- A display name: your real name, brand, or creator handle
- A short bio: one or two lines on what you do and why people should tap your links, e.g. "Helping new founders build their first brand 🚀"
Step 4: Add your first blocks
This is where your page comes to life. Click + Add Block to open the block picker. The Link block is the one you'll use most:
- Give it a clear, action-led title (e.g. "Shop my favourites")
- Paste the destination URL
- Optionally add a thumbnail and an icon to make it stand out
knit.bio has far more than plain links. A few favourites to explore:
- Social Icons: link all your profiles in one neat row
- Video: embed YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook clips inline
- Music: Spotify, SoundCloud, and podcast players
- Image & Image Carousel: show off photos and work
- Product Card: sell something directly from your page
- Email Collection: grow a mailing list (Pro)
Tip: Put your single most important link at the very top. That prime spot gets the most taps.
Step 5: Make it yours
Open the Theme panel to style your page. You can:
- Switch themes instantly, your blocks stay exactly where they are
- Set a background: a solid colour, a gradient, or your own image
- Choose button shapes (filled, outline, soft, pill) and accent colours
Changes preview live, so play around until it feels like you.
Step 6: Preview, then publish
Before going live, hit Preview and check your page on both mobile and desktop. Tap through every link to make sure it points where it should. Happy? Click Publish: your page is now live at knit.bio/yourname. 🎉
Step 7: Share it everywhere
A published page only works if people see it. Add your link to:
- Your Instagram, TikTok, and X bios
- YouTube video descriptions and your channel's About section
- Your email signature
- Business cards and packaging (the built-in QR Code block makes this easy)
A few habits that pay off
- ✅ Lead with clear, benefit-driven link titles, skip "Click here"
- ✅ Keep it focused: 6–8 links is the sweet spot
- ✅ Check your analytics each week and double down on what gets tapped
- ✅ Refresh your top link whenever you post something new
That's it. You've built and shipped your knit.bio page. When you're ready for more, the next guide breaks down every block and feature in detail. Welcome aboard! 🚀
