Get More Clicks: A Simple Conversion Guide

Most people treat their link-in-bio like a static menu. But a few thoughtful changes can meaningfully lift how many visitors actually tap through. Here are eight that consistently make a difference.

1. Win the top of the page

The part visitors see without scrolling decides whether they stay. Make sure it includes a clear profile photo, a one-line bio that says what you offer, and your single most important link right up top. Use the Featured / Spotlight style so it stands out.

2. Write titles that promise something

Generic labels get ignored. Lead with a benefit and an action verb.

  • ❌ "YouTube" → ✅ "🎥 Watch my latest video"
  • ❌ "Shop" → ✅ "🛍️ Shop my favourites: 20% off today"
  • ❌ "Newsletter" → ✅ "✉️ Get my free starter guide"

3. Create a clear hierarchy

Not every link deserves equal weight. Use different block styles to guide the eye:

  • Product Card for your highest-value offer
  • Standard links for regular content
  • Product Compact or grouped links for secondary items

4. Add a little urgency

Time-sensitive language nudges people to act now instead of "later" (which usually means never):

  • "Sale ends tonight"
  • "Only a few coaching spots left this month"
  • Pair it with a Countdown Timer block for a real deadline

5. Show proof

Numbers and social proof build trust fast. Work them into your titles or a Testimonials block:

  • "Join 5,000+ readers"
  • "Rated 4.9★ by customers"
  • "Featured in [publication]"

6. Keep it focused

Too many choices leads to no choice at all. Aim for around 6–8 links and order them by priority:

  • Your main offer (product, service, or affiliate)
  • Your latest or featured content
  • Email sign-up
  • Everything else

Archive stale links so your page stays sharp.

7. Design for mobile

The overwhelming majority of your visitors are on a phone. The good news: every knit.bio page is mobile-optimised by default. Still, do a quick check: tap targets should be easy to hit, text should be readable without zooming, and images should load fast. Always preview on mobile before publishing.

8. Test, then let the data decide

What works for someone else may not work for your audience, so experiment:

  • Try different titles and link order
  • Test thumbnails vs. plain buttons
  • On Premium, use built-in A/B testing to compare variations properly

Let your analytics (click-through rate and top links) tell you what to keep.

A simple 4-week plan

  • Week 1: Audit your page and spot the weak links
  • Week 2: Rewrite every title with a benefit and an action verb
  • Week 3: Reorder by priority and trim to your best 6–8
  • Week 4: Add urgency and proof, then start testing

Optimisation is ongoing, not one-and-done. Review your numbers weekly, make one improvement at a time, and the clicks will follow.
